The Murder - 'Til Death

The Murder - 'Til Death

I’m writing this having just returned from the post office, dropping off the materials for our upcoming album, “‘Til Death”.

I’m really proud of how the album came out. The four of us got together and really gave it our all, and I think the end result is a great party oriented, sing along record! It’s going to be out April 20th on limited edition vinyl, and includes a free digital download so you can get the best of both worlds!

To celebrate, we’re releasing “Streets of Boston“, the first single off the album as a free digital download, so check it out, enjoy it and pass it along to your friends to check out as well! You’ll also get added to our email list to keep updated on the newest developments in the world of The Murder!

We’ll be posting more information about this in the coming weeks, so keep checking back often! Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!

Fuck Anti-Flag

Posted in News & Updates, Politics on February 2nd, 2010 by Roach McKrackin

Anti-Flag

So Anti-Flag is coming to my city tonight. They’re playing down the street, at The Paradise. If I were a more violent person I might consider going down there and pulling the same type of number some locals pulled on Moby the last time he played the ‘dise…

Seriously though, is anyone else as sick of Anti-Flag as I am? I mean, besides their tired angry liberal bullshit and promote an anti-capitalist stance while they play festivals with corporate sponsors and sell music and merchandise, for a time on a major label… It’s just foolishness. I’m glad they’ve found an angle to help them sell records and get their message across, I just wish it wasn’t so hypocritical…

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way: Check out this post from SomethingAwful.com, Garbage Day: Anti-Flag

I’ll be the first to admit, I used to like Anti-Flag… I was also 16, so please forgive me… What happened? I grew up, got a job and moved out of mommy and daddy’s house… Maybe someday, they’ll do the same.

Oh yeah, and Justin Sane looks like a retarded Pee Wee Herman.

Paint It Red!

Posted in News & Updates, Politics on January 22nd, 2010 by Roach McKrackin

Paint It Red!

When I started The Murder I felt like I was charging against the wind, that a conservative punk band would be nothing but ostracized and criticized, and it truly fills my heart with joy to realize how many conservative punks (and conservatives in general) there are in Massachusetts. And not just people hiding underground either. Members of high profile Boston bands, both past and present, radio personalities, and others… Not that fame and recognition makes anyone better than anyone else, because it certianly doesn’t, but it’s nice to know that people are beginning to lose their fear of criticism and are speaking out for what is right, even though it might not be popular, especially in one of the bluest states (at least for now) in the union… I feel like a movement was started this past Tuesday, let’s not let up and continue to Paint It Red!

Rhode Island Invasion

Flyer

Hey all, just wanted to let you know we’ll be returning to KC’s Tap in Pawtucket RI this Friday, January 22nd.

We’re doing something a little different, and this will be the first of hopefully many shows that we perform as an acoustic act. I’ve always thought of our songs as akin to the protest music of the 1970’s, and this will help to establish that. Hot off the heels of this Tuesday’s Senate Election, I feel like the country is in a period of flux, and we’ll be sure to be there when the tides turn, six strings in hand, promoting our message of freedom and liberty from government tyranny!

Supporting us will be our good friends WORM, Tex Railer’s Doomtown and Wicked Whiskey. Tex Railer’s and Wicked Whiskey are fellow Boston acts, while WORM is an up and coming group straight from our old stomping grounds on the South Shore.

Doors open at 8pm, so get there early!

If you haven’t already, why don’t you RSVP on the Facebook Event Page

Libertarian Punk

Posted in News & Updates, Politics on January 5th, 2010 by Roach McKrackin

While surfing the web earlier today, I came across a website site, www.LibertarianPunk.com and thought I’d share it with you. Some of you may get it, and some of you most certainly won’t, and you know what? That’s perfectly fine, because that’s what makes us individuals.

I won’t go into a big long explanation on what it’s about, except to say that I can’t for the life of me begin to fathom how all of these knee-jerk liberal punk rockers can argue that they’re fighting the system when they side with a political party and ideology that is the inverse of what they claim to believe in.

That’s not to say that the GOP has all the answers, because they most certainly don’t, but as far as political ideologies go, conservatism is far closer to the original “punk” ideology than liberalism could ever hope to be. Conservatism, in it’s truest form is all about empowerment of self, and the limitation of government in our daily lives. Sounds alot like what most of us believe in, right?

Just some food for thought, and remember, it’s hard to have an opposing or dissenting view, so look deep inside yourself and ask what you really believe. Trust me, I’m a punk rock conservative in the bluest state in the union…

Halloween! Featuring The Murder as White Zombie

Posted in News & Updates, Show Announcements on October 23rd, 2009 by Roach McKrackin
Halloween Matinee!

Halloween Matinee!

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, the leaves are falling, and there is a slight chill in the air. What does it all mean? That Halloween is right around the corner, and with that bring a slew of shows featuring your favorite bands covering your favorite bands!

This year will be no exception, and I can say in all honesty that this may just be the most highly anticipated event of the year.

On the afternoon of All Hallows Eve, The Murder will perform as White Zombie at The Midway Cafe, 3496 Washington St, Jamaica Plain! This won’t be just another cover set, but a full on production, complete with lights, sound, special effects and more!

Providing support will be Fulton Reed (AKA The Old Edison), performing as Slapshot and other Boston bands (In their own unique acoustic style), The Designer Drugs as Bikini Kill and local legend Squallie Greenthumb as Jack White, of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs.

The show is a matinee, with doors opening at 3:00pm, so there’ll be plenty of time to Trick or Treat and party afterwards. Bring your little ghoul or goblin along too, as it is all ages!

The cover is $8, but wear a costume and only pay $5! (Sorry kids, being a “punk rocker” doesn’t count as a costume)

Last but not least, there will be Free Candy and other treats for you to enjoy. This will be one of the defining moments of the year, and you don’t want to be left out when everyone is talking about it after the fact!

If you’re on Facebook, why not check out the event page and RSVP!

See you there, and have a Happy Halloween!
