Paint It Red!

Paint It Red!

When I started The Murder I felt like I was charging against the wind, that a conservative punk band would be nothing but ostracized and criticized, and it truly fills my heart with joy to realize how many conservative punks (and conservatives in general) there are in Massachusetts. And not just people hiding underground either. Members of high profile Boston bands, both past and present, radio personalities, and others… Not that fame and recognition makes anyone better than anyone else, because it certianly doesn’t, but it’s nice to know that people are beginning to lose their fear of criticism and are speaking out for what is right, even though it might not be popular, especially in one of the bluest states (at least for now) in the union… I feel like a movement was started this past Tuesday, let’s not let up and continue to Paint It Red!

Rhode Island Invasion

Flyer

Hey all, just wanted to let you know we’ll be returning to KC’s Tap in Pawtucket RI this Friday, January 22nd.

We’re doing something a little different, and this will be the first of hopefully many shows that we perform as an acoustic act. I’ve always thought of our songs as akin to the protest music of the 1970’s, and this will help to establish that. Hot off the heels of this Tuesday’s Senate Election, I feel like the country is in a period of flux, and we’ll be sure to be there when the tides turn, six strings in hand, promoting our message of freedom and liberty from government tyranny!

Supporting us will be our good friends WORM, Tex Railer’s Doomtown and Wicked Whiskey. Tex Railer’s and Wicked Whiskey are fellow Boston acts, while WORM is an up and coming group straight from our old stomping grounds on the South Shore.

Doors open at 8pm, so get there early!

If you haven’t already, why don’t you RSVP on the Facebook Event Page

Libertarian Punk

Posted in News & Updates, Politics on January 5th, 2010 by Roach McKrackin

While surfing the web earlier today, I came across a website site, www.LibertarianPunk.com and thought I’d share it with you. Some of you may get it, and some of you most certainly won’t, and you know what? That’s perfectly fine, because that’s what makes us individuals.

I won’t go into a big long explanation on what it’s about, except to say that I can’t for the life of me begin to fathom how all of these knee-jerk liberal punk rockers can argue that they’re fighting the system when they side with a political party and ideology that is the inverse of what they claim to believe in.

That’s not to say that the GOP has all the answers, because they most certainly don’t, but as far as political ideologies go, conservatism is far closer to the original “punk” ideology than liberalism could ever hope to be. Conservatism, in it’s truest form is all about empowerment of self, and the limitation of government in our daily lives. Sounds alot like what most of us believe in, right?

Just some food for thought, and remember, it’s hard to have an opposing or dissenting view, so look deep inside yourself and ask what you really believe. Trust me, I’m a punk rock conservative in the bluest state in the union…
