First off, I assume that if you're reading this you're interested in booking The Murder, and for that we thank you! Please read the following before you contact us, as it should answer some of the more common questions we get:

The band is based in Boston MA. Specifically, Mission Hill. While we strive to spread our music as far and wide as possible we can't travel more than 3 or 4 hours out for a show unless we're touring. If you would like us to play in your town please send us a message and we'll get in touch when we plan our next tour. Also, please be aware that there are exceptions to this rule, (ie: festivals, annual events, etc). With that being said, The Murder does not consider any city or town to be "unplayable", so please don't hesitate to inquire!

While we wish that we could do so, we really can't afford to play for free. We don't have a hard and fast rule as to how much, but with gas prices the way they are these days we appreciate whatever you can do. Of course we deal with each show on a case by case basis, and obviously the cover charge and amount of people the show draws has a big impact. Also, it goes without saying (but I'm saying it anyway) that the further out a show is, the more we need. Again, we're not looking to get rich, we just want to put a little gas in the tank.

While we don't have a particular preference about where you put us on a bill, we do kindly request that you limit the lineup of bands to four or five max. If you are booking an all day marathon show with 10 or 15 bands, please put us somewhere in the middle, we'll really appreciate it!

We (as individuals) have been part of the scene for a long time, and know all about the hard work and effort it takes to promote a show. While we keep our fans informed of upcoming events (via MySpace, email, etc) it is really up to you, as the promoter to properly advertise the show. This is especially true for out of town shows where we may not be as familiar with the local record shops and hangouts. When you are designing your flyer, please contact us and we'll send you a high resolution version of our logo for use on your advertising materials. Also, if you'd like some assistance with flyer design, please don't hesitate to ask. While we can't accommodate every request, we do enjoy contributing above and beyond playing at the event!

The Murder is a 4 piece band, with two guitars, bass and drums. We usually provide our own backline, but are not adverse to sharing equipment to keep the flow of a show going smoothly. We do request that the promoter provide a working PA with three vocal mics, and at least 12 square feet of space to set up our merch table.
